"The Alucia arrived at the port of Suape on Tuesday 12 April 2011. Its arrival brought to an end phase 4 of the sea searches that made it possible to localize and identify the wreckage of the A 330 on Sunday 3 April 2011.
The BEA once again salutes the work done by the team on board the ship led by Mike Purcell, head of the expedition, from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution."
The ship Ile de Sein from the company Alcatel-Lucent Submarine Networks (ASN), equipped with a ROV from Phoenix International Inc., is planned to undertake the fifth phase of maritime operations. This mission will be directed by the BEA and financed by the French State.

The team on board the Alucia will complete vehicle operations on Friday. The vessel will leave the search area on Saturday 9 April and should reach the port of Suape (Brazil) on the morning of Tuesday 12 April.
The BEA confirms that a press conference will be held in its premises at
15h00. Journalists who wish to attend should present their press
accreditation at the reception.

The BEA informs you that the team led by WHOI on board the vessel Alucia has located pieces of an aircraft in the course of an underwater search operation conducted over the last 24 hours. These pieces have been identified by the BEA safety investigators as parts of the commercial airliner Airbus 330-203, AF flight 447. Further information will be announced later on.
