Preliminary data received from the civil aviation authorities of Taiwan:

On March 11, 2016, at 1320 Taipei local time (0008 UTC), National Airborne Service Corps, an Eurocopter/AS365N3 helicopter, bearing registration NA107, crashed into water during hoisting a rescuer from a vessel about 0.3 nm away from seashore. NA107 carried 2 pilots, 1 mechanic and 2 rescuers.

The BEA was informed by his Taiwanese counterpart, the Aviation Safety Council (ASC ), of the opening of a safety investigation following an accident at sea on March 11th, 2016 to the Airbus Helicopters AS365 registered NA- 107, north of Taipei (Taiwan).
The helicopter, operated by "National Air Service Corps" was carrying 2 flight crew members, a mechanic and 2 rescuers.
In accordance with international provisions, the BEA, representing the State of Design and Manufacture of the helicopter will participate in the safety investigation.
A team of three investigators from the BEA accompanied by two technical advisers from Airbus Helicopters have been on location since March 12, 2016.
