Accident to the Airbus A320, registered SU-GCC and operated by Egyptair, on 05/19/2016 in cruise off the Egyptian coast [Investigation led by AIB / Egypt] - 06/28/16 7H30

The Egyptian authorities published a new progress report on 28/06/16 at 1H45 indicating that the FDR (Flight Data Recorder) had been repaired with success by the BEA experts and that the repair operations on the CVR (Cockpit Voice Recorder) would start this morning.

Progress report n° 17 published by the Egyptian authorities:

"Cairo, 27 June 2016

The electronic board of the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) of the doomed A320 was successfully repaired at the labs of the French aircraft investigation bureau; where accurate tests for the board was conducted to make sure that the aircraft data file is on the recorder. The repair process was carried out by experts from the French investigation bureau and was witnessed by the technical investigation committee immediately after their arrival to Paris this afternoon.

Tomorrow the repair process for the electronic board of the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) will commence; then it will be transferred to Cairo for data analysis at the Central Department for aviation accidents at the Ministry of Civil Aviation of Egypt."
