The flight diverted to Port Sudan (Sudan) due to bad weather at Khartoum. The flight continued to Khartoum later that night. The weather was poor with thunderstorm and rain over Khartoum. The captain commenced a normal approach to runway 36 and landed at 1726 UTC. The aircraft longitudinally overran the runway, came to a stop at 215 meters beyond its end and burst into flames on its right side.
